I thought this week's blog would be a product spotlight post and I have picked this beautiful 3D butterfly birthday card to write about.

How I Made The Card

I used a combination of products from Arden Creative Studio's Garden Chronicles collection, designed by Katie Pertiet Designs. I started with the background by adding a piece of decoupage paper with matt medium glue to a piece of blank white card. I then used Lindy's Gang Magicals Garden Chronicles powders to add a little bit of extra colour.

The next step was to add a few rub-ons from the collection and use the stamps to create some extra background texture. I used a grey ink to stamp some words into the background. By using grey ink, the words don't become too bold instead blending into the background.

I then die cut some of the butterflies, using the Lindy's Gang Magicals again to colour a piece of card and then die cut the shapes. I picked out some of the ephemera pieces to create a little cluster and glued together with the main butterfly on top.

For the sentiment, I picked out one of the Arden Creative Studio label dies and a Happy Birthday stamp which I used adhesive foam to place at the bottom right of the card.

The final stage was to glue the panel to the mat layer of card which I had coloured around the edge with a matching blue accent.
