Christmas has a habit of arriving faster than expected. One minute it is all “we have plenty of time”, and the next, the cards need writing, the stamps have vanished, and someone has just remembered the wrapping paper. I love making notepad holders. They are quite easy to make but turn a boring notepad into a beautiful piece of stationery to enhance any desk. I start with 1500 micron greyboard cut down to size depending on the size of notepad I will fit in. A6 notepads are usually my preferred size to make but I will sometimes go to A5 or DL. I have a couple of DL size in the shop at the moment although most of my latest makes are A6.

Every now and again I like to take a bit of time out from making "things" and do something in an art journal just for me. There is no end "product", no card or notepad, just a little piece of art in a book. I might film it for YouTube but if I forget to turn the camera on it doesn't matter. I had been playing with Copilot a while ago where I asked it to adapt a photo of my dog, Barney. I loved the image it came up with and then last week I elaborated on it and ended up going down a rabbit hole where I started making notebooks and notepads. Before I knew it I then gave it a photo of my (now departed) cat, Mabel, and, well, a whole new range of products were created! Here is the photo that started it all and the image that Copilot came up with.

This week's blog is a product spotlight featuring the Romantic Horses Memory Album. I actually made this quite a few years ago and is one of my favourite albums I have ever made, mainly because the designer papers are just so beautiful. I used the Stamperia Romantic Horses collection with black card for the base. It has a hardback cover. It is not a small album with measurements being 9 1/2" long x 9" high x 3" deep but this also means it has a lot of space for photographs

This week's blog is a bit of a sneak peek and what I have been making. Christmas in July So, for crafters, July is a big time for Christmas crafting. It is when craft manufacturers and designers release their first Christmas collections of the year. Of course, this means new products for me too! I bought the new Arden Creative Studio release designed by Katie Pertiet Designs called Christmas Cheer. As soon as I received it I started making and it is so beautiful.

So this week I have added some new items to my shop, those being some notebooks, notepads, birthday cards and a keyring in a new colour. The Notebooks First up are the notebooks, handmade from start to finish. I created the covers from my PaperArtsy stamps designed by Alison Bomber, beautiful rose and hydrangea images which I stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with watercolours. There will be a full YouTube demo video for these up in the near future.

I thought this week's blog would be a product spotlight post and I have picked this beautiful 3D butterfly birthday card to write about. How I Made The Card I used a combination of products from Arden Creative Studio's Garden Chronicles collection, designed by Katie Pertiet Designs.
